The scan frame is composed of the scan beam 4"X10", which is either free standing, or support by existing mill supports and the scan bar 4"X8", which hangs from the scan beam using the provided adjustable brackets. The scan heads and their brackets slide onto and along the scan bar. The placement of the scan frame in relation to the carriage and head blocks is important to ensure the log sits inside the ideal scan window of the scan heads. Check the Cleereman Carriage drawings for the exact positional dimension.
Work with Cleereman to determine the positioning of the scanheads within your mill and what existing supports or obstructions may exist to determine the position of the scan frame (this should be done before startup/install)
Place/mount the scan beam with existing supports, or using freestanding legs
Note, heavy vibration/shaking of the frame can cause scanning issues and may require bracing.
Mount the scan bar using the provided brackets to the scan beam
Verify the scan bar is parallel with the end of each knee as it travels along the track, and that the scan bar is parallel with knee base(track/ground)
Place the scanhead mounting brackets on the scan bar, and the cable trough section on the scan beam
DO NOT mount the heads until all welding within line of side of the cameras is completed. If additional welding is necessary make sure the scanheads are covered/protected by an opaque material
Loosely run the cables for each scanhead along the trough and pull them into the scanner cabinet
The Cleereman Controls technician will do the final placement/alignment of the scan bar and scanheads at startup
