The Reference Switch is mounted along the rub rail near the load end of the carriage track in most system and is used to reference the carriages position in relation to the saw and scanheads. This is critical when trying to align the log data on the carriage, and to track the relative position of the carriage.
Assemble all necessary parts, and choose a suitable location to mount the sensor
Sensor needs to see carriage rub rail, within a few inches
Sensor should be placed so that its on if the carriage is against the load end bumper and should only go off when moving towards the saw
Mount the switch, and either terminate it into the Encoder termination box, or its own junction box
If terminated in it own junction box (not with encoder) it will need its own cable run back to the scanner cabinet
