Knee Valve Installation

Each knee on a Cleereman Linear Carriage has a hydraulic valve used to control its position. The Valve is commanded by the RMC in the Carriage Setworks Cabinet, and receives command voltage telling it where it should move to, based on the position reported by the probe, and the position the system has been told to move to or maintain.

Knee Valve Installation

Turn of power to the setworks cabinet. and ensure the Setworks HPU is off, and the system has had time to relieve pressure and cool
On the backside of the carriage knee, the valve sits at the top of the knee control stack. There should be 4 bolts that sit recessed, accessible from the top of the valve, and a cable connection to unscrew
When replacing the valve, ensure the O-ring seal is correctly placed and aligned on the bottom side of the valve
Replace the 4 bolts, and screw the connection back on, when screwing on the connector try to keep pushing it into the valve to ensure a good connection

Turn power back on the setworks cabinet, and startup the setworks to verify knee functionality. Check for any possible leaks, this usually indicates a bad O-ring seal
